  • F3-12800CL7D-4GBHZ and Asus P5Q3 Deluxe/WiFi

I can't seem to get to 400/1600 fsb. I can hit 395/1580 with no problem with all auto settings. but 400/1600 won't post and barely posts with manually setting memory then won't boot to Vista Ult. x64. I tried overvolting up to 2.06 and the best I get is vista progress bar for a split second before auto-reboot.

    Things I've tried:
Set XMP and manually set 400fsb.

    Set strap to 266/333/400.

Tried 9-9-9-24 88 timings. also, 8-8-8-22 74 as well. Not sure what else to try, but I find it strange 395 is over 2hrs prime95 blend stable before I stop it, but 400 won't post without major overhaul of the timings.

Any help wil be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your CPU could reach FSB 400?
and please make sure your CPU cooler is enough for overclocking
I noticed that it is B3 step, which would have higher temperature
if you want to try XMP function, there is no need to set FSB 400 manually
    it would overclock automatically
    thanks

yeah, I run my x3320 at over 400 on my other boards (P965, P35, 680i, X38) It just doesn't like this board.

My 9450 I run it over 450 without issues on my x38 and P5Q Deluxe.

Both chips crap out at 400 no matter what. I wass hoping maybe there was some timing or motherboard setting that may need to be enabled/disabled as all P45 DDR33 boards seem to be picky with RAM.

as I already stated, I did that. It will post, but crashes as soon as it starts to load Vista. Not sure what else I can do. I set memory to 1:1 and it posts to 400 and even 450. but won't post at 1:2.

Is there any timings advice? I've mostly set it all to auto. but even xmp won't work.

I've ran my volts up to 1.475 on the X3220, but I have no issues with vcore. I have issues with ram. I can set ram 1:1 and hit 400/800 no problems or 450/900 on my C2Q Q9450. It's just not working at 400/1600 or higher.

Same thing. It gets all the way to the windows boot screen and bsod/reboot.

Here is a picture of my ram timings when I used your settings.
