Hi,
I have this system:

Asus M4A79XTD EVO (bios 0605) http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...WHm&templete=2
Ripjaws F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=243
AMD Phenom II x2 550 (x4 with all core actives)

I have problems with ram. They crash the system. They do not work at 7-8-7-24-40 2T 1600mhz. If I set up them at this specification, system do not start (I have to clear RTC ram!). The same thing if I set up them at 1333mhz.
Instead if I set up all parameters at AUTO, I do not have problems. But they work at 1333mhz 9-9-9-24-33 1T.

What's the problem? What's the correct setting?

Most AMD platforms/motherboards can not operate CL 7 timings. You will need to use tCL 8 - tRCD 7 - tRP 7 - tRAS 24 2T @ 1600 and everything should work properly. Also, make sure memory voltage is set to 1.65V.

For me, it works at 7-8-7-20-30 1T @1600MHZ 1.6V

Running for 2 days now, I keep tryin to reach better with stock voltage.


Try to put your sticks in the last two Dimm slots. For me, it seems to be the secret with this board.
