  • F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH settings for GD70

I'm not able to get this RAM running at the advertised 1600 speed, or at 7-7-7-24. What settings should I use in my MSI 790fx-gd70?

    Memory Frequency - 1600 1:4 ratio
    tCL - 8
    tRCD - 7
    tRP - 7
    tRAS - 24
    Command Rate - 2

    Memory Voltage - 1.65V

Save and exit, let me know how that works. Make sure you have the latest BIOS and you should be able to operate CL 7.

    Thank you

I tried those settings and I can boot into windows but it crashes, also my 965 cpu shows core speed 800.00 instead of 3400 and the multiplier is x4.0 instead of 17 and core voltage is 1.016 instead of 1.4.

UPDATE: I turned cool & quite off in the bios and the core speed and everything else is normal.
The system was stable for about an hour and then I got a bsod.

would you like to increase the NB and HT voltage to 1.4-1.5v to see if it helps?
        thanks

I increased the voltages but I got errors in Prime 95 right away.

try to loosen the timing to 8-8-8-24 or 9-9-9-24
since we tested this item on Intel P55 platform, we don't guarantee it on AM3 platform

I'm aware that this item was tested on Intel P55 platform. I guess I'll try loosening the timings. I was able to run it at 1333 7-7-7-24 1T at stock volts. I might just decide to stay with tighter timings at 1333.
