2x 4Gb DDR3 showing as 2x 2Gb

Right packaging. Wrong modules.

Alright. So thanks for the embarrassingly obvious troubleshooting tip! Feeling a little silly.

Been unavoidably out of commission for the month. Just able to check the modules. Sho' nuff, 2Gb sticks packaged as 4Gb. Not only that, but I'm totally embarrasses that in my excitement to drop in these two new sticks, I didn't even pay attention to the fact that the G.Skill packaging was obscuring the labels of ACTUAL manufacturers... Damn. What a goob I've been. Next step to see if I can get some understanding from the seller...

What model is the RAM?

Can you post a picture?

Just purchased some G.Skill 1066MHz, DDR3, PC3-8500 from Amazon. 2x 4Gb sticks for a total of an 8Gb upgrade for my mid-2010 MacBook Pro. My previous install was the stock memory, 2x 2Gb DDR3 SO-DIMMs.

Installed the new G.Skill RAM the other day, booted up, and in "About this Mac", I'm showing 2x 2Gb sticks for a total of 4Gb. Again, it should be reading 2x 4Gb for a total of 8Gb. The packaging and labels on the modules all show 2x 4Gb. What gives?
