  • F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL and GIGABYTE GA-H57M-USB3 Blue screen

I have a GIGABYTE GA-H57M-USB3 motherboard with a i3 530 running Windows 10 pro 64 running BIOS F9. I am having a hell of a time getting this 8gb ram kit to work. I tried the timing listed on the package, the timing in the auto settings, set the turbo mode to standard. XMP is also disabled. The machine says windows needs to repair no matter what I do then blue screens and constantly restarts. I have the ram installed in slots DDR3_1 and DDR3_3 per manual instructions (also where my old was/is working fine). If I put in the old ram I had in there and reconfigure the timing for that ram everything works fine and the machine starts right up. Is there some other configuration I am missing? Could the ram be bad?

Is the 8GBXL RAM single sided chips? If so, you need to get some double sided like F3-1600C11D-8GNT to work properly.

Hmm I will have to check. I used new eggs memory finder to purchase these. I will watch for double sided chips.
