Hello everyone, i'm trying to build a pc with some spare parts i bought online in the past few months. I had this x5470 xeon that runs 4.5 ghz easy with fsb at 450 on a P5Q Deluxe i have, i wanted to to give it some extra power by running it on a DDR3 mainboard i bought for cheap and using it with DDR3 Ripjaws 1600 mhz.
Now i already know i couldn't run 1600 mhz on all 4 channels but i thought 1333 would be fine. So i bought the ram in the description and what happened is that the system doesn't even boot with one of the sticks. What's wrong? What should I have bought to run 16gb on that mainboard?
I also wanted to let you know that I have uploaded the bios to the last one available (and added the xeon microcodes to it), the system boots just fine using some 1600mhz ram from a different manufacturer.
