First of all, the Sniper F3-1866C10D-16GSR is listed by G.Skill as compatible with the Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2.
Either of the 2 8GB sticks will work and I have booted the (new) machine up.
But they won't work as a pair. Can't boot up with 16GB.
I have booted to bios and tried optimum, default and XMP settings before adding the second stick. I've reseated both many times, cleaned the sticks and slots, etc.
Asus MemOK runs and runs and cannot get to boot with both sticks. After I try, it can be a bit of a struggle to finagle getting back to booting up with one stick.
This particular RAM is listed as compatible by G.Skill, as noted, but I don't see it on the Asus QVL list for the motherboard. :-/
Help? Is there Any hope?
Thanks,
JustJSS
P.S. Running with one stick of 8GB isn't stable, as it turns out. I got the OS loaded (Win 8) but am having screen freezes, and problems rebooting. I'm willing to try anything but my best guess is that these sticks are not actually compatible despite the listing.
