Hello,
I am looking for new 2x4 GB sticks for my PC. My current Ripjaws(12800CL9D-4GBRL) need to go to RMA in the mean time.
My PC has the following specs,
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE C3
MSI 790 GX G65 AM3 Motherboard (supports till 1600 in the BIOS without overclocking).
I'm confused between these two,
Sniper 12800CL9D-8GBSR

Ripjaws X 12800CL9D-8GBXL
http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-12800cl9d-8gbxl
My mobo is not in QVL list as it's pretty old but I'm sure it'll be supported because both the above sticks have same QVL list as my current sticks and my current stick had my mobo in the list back in 2010.
I've heard that the Snipers are better for AMDs. But have also heard that they're poor overclockers. I'm slightly inclined towards the snipers because of lesser height. Which ones should I get?
Thanks in advance.
