  • F3-2133C10D-8GXM + Asrock H87 Performance (Fata1ity)

So I got a 2x4gb kit of F3-2133C10D-8GXM at a good deal during Black Friday for a new build, and wasn't too careful about looking at top speed of memory that my motherboard supported. I'm not disappointed, as the memory was at a great price, but if I am running this memory at 1600mhz instead of 2133mhz, I would like to get lower timing than what I get with XMP.
Right now my timings are 9-9-9-24-2T. tRFC is 128 with 1.60v.

I would like to get 8-8-8-24-2T if possible. I tried with the tRFC at 128 and got a crash and it wouldn't even boot the tRFC at 150. I've never had to set tRFC before, so I'm clueless as what to do with it, as well as some other memory settings in the UEFI bios.

Should I just be happy with my current clocks? I can imagine it would be hard to tell the difference, but still, 8 looks better than 9

Depending on the chips used on your kit, i would try the following combinations (start with Vdimm at 1.60V):

      8-9-9-24
      8-9-8-24
      7-9-8-24
      8-8-8-24
      7-8-8-24

If you found any of these combinations for the primary timings are stable, try reducing command rate from 2T (default) to 1T and lowering Vdimm afterwards.

What should I do for tRFC? Leave it at 128, raise it?

If you can't even do the first of those settings with tRFC at 128, then raise it a bit (-> 140 -> 150 -> 160).

            Thanks for the help.

            I'm doing 8-9-8-24 right now.

I'll try lowering after making sure this is stable/ and enjoy my precious few hours of me time at home :-)

Honestly, I think I will be happy even if this is the best I can do.
