  • F3-2400C11D-16GAB - Timings for slower speeds

I purchased F3-2400C11D-16GAB recently and they work great at DDR3-2400 at CAS 11-12-12-31 at 1.65v!

I also wanted to try them at a slightly slower speed but wasn't sure what timings/voltage I should use. Would it just be trial and error or what timings would be suggested for the following speeds??

    DDR3-2133
    DDR3-1866

    Thanks!

    10-12-12-31 for 2133 at 1.6v is a starting point

10-11-10-30 for 1866 at 1.5v is the other starting point

(those are the timings of the same kits at slower speeds) however you have better chips inside the kit you own so you "should" be able to squeeze maybe a bit lower timings out of them, you also SHOULD be able to run them at 1.65v at either setting and noticably lower the timings. These are the sure fire settings anything beyond that will be trial and error. I think you SHOULD be able to get at least 9-10-9-28 out of them at 1866, 1.65v or even much better. Most benchmarks without a really solid set seem to favor 2133 at really tight timings over 2400 at looser it seems. So I'd focus on dialing it in at 2133, or seeing if you can shave some off the 2400 timings.

You aparently have a decent kit as the rated timings for that kit are 11-13-13-31, you're already under that see what else you can get away with, perhaps 10-12-12-31, 10-12-12-30, and also try CR from 2->1 whenever you find the best settings to try and sqeeze the last bit of speed out of them.

Thanks for the suggestion... yah looks like I got a nice set!

Got them running at DDR3-2133 at 9-11-11-30 (CR1) at 1.65v. Need to run them through memtest to make sure they are stable at those timings. But so far no issues in Windows.

If that works and you're up for more "trying" go back to cr2, try 9-11-10-30, then 9-11-10-29 or 9-10-10-30, and cap it off with a run at CR1.

If you don't want to go full cutting edge I'd at least see if I could pull the voltage down to 1.6v

Oddly enough for my kit, voltage matters none, I get zero extra OC from all the way up to 1.65v compaired to 1.5v but that is unusual. And I've discovered I don't have to run memtest on my ram, if my USB wifi software loads on boot, its stable, if won't connect I will bluescreen every time, never had it load and then bluescreen lol. Kinda my own personal memtest.

Yah tried DDR3-2133 9-10-10-30 CR2 at 1.65v. It wouldn't post at those timings.
Don't want to exceed 1.65v as these have minimal heatsinks on them.

I doubt that slight difference in timings would make noticeable difference at all.

No I wouldn't touch anythign over 1.65v, My advice is see if you can get it stable at 1.6v at your previous good timeings and enjoy!
