  • need replacement/upgrade help for G.SKILL RAM

Hi, I was running 4 sticks of ram for around 4 years and just found out some of it was bad causing BSODs. I could sure use some help deciding if I should just order 4 new sticks of the same or, maybe something that would be better. I used MEMTEST to find the faulty ram. Here is my motherboard/ram I'm using now. Thanks!

is probably the fastest thing you can put in there to replace what you have its $92

    best value at $72

top one has much better latency, bottom on is cheaper, both are same amount of memory you currently have. No reason to use 4 sticks, and definatly don't want to mix 2 sets again. Forgot exactly how much what you bought before was but I think one is cheaper, and one is slightly more than 2 sets of the other. its your call now

EDIT: Your board is capable of faster memory than this, however not knowing your processor I stuck with 1600, since we know its capable of that. It is possible a faster clock speed is an option.

This is the processor so probably the ram you mentioned would be the fastest I could use? I'll check those links out. Thanks!

Yes I would probably stick with those two then. Nothing wrong with your processor, unless you do crazy high end stuff on your pc. It only "supports" 1333, so I wouldn't want to go above 1600. I think you'll be happy with either kit, only question is speed or value... but isn't that life?

Just remember when using only two sticks put them in the same colored slots, not the two beside eachother to take advantage of being dual channel

and I guess its also time to mention all Gskill memory does have a lifetime warranty, so RMAing it is an option as well.

I found which one of the two sticks I removed was bad I've never done a return with NewEgg but, I guess I'll see if I can get it replaced as well, as buying new ram.
