  • G.skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPI (2x2gb) on Asus Striker Extreme

    Hi all,

I have an e6700 2.66ghz @ 3.0ghz, I have a problem with the memory's, they running on 800 instead of 1000mhz. On BIOS (last version 2002) everything is [auto], except fsb at 1200.

Would like to know which best possible memory timmings for my F2-8000CL5D-4GBPI (2x2GB). Hope you can help me...

    Thank for your support.

Do you have the latest BIOS and have you tried setting them up manually 5-5-5-15, 2.1, 2T, 1000?

Yes, it is the last version (bios). Haven't tried setting them yet, will do it now, don't have much BIOS experience need to read manual lol. Btw, did some reading on websites about Sli-Ready Memory, should I enable this for better performance? or the timmings is all I need?

Not sure if these sticks have EPP profile or not, think some of the PIs did, can always try it...EPP (enhanced performance profile) is a thing nVidia came up with that is native to their chipsets, some memory manufacturers use it on occasion

Hum... it shows on CPU-Z EPP 1.0

          freq: 500mhz
          5-5-5-15
          tRC:45
          CR 2t
          voltage 2.1.

For some reason, when I enable Sli-Ready Memory, and reboot... it doesn't boot have to reset bios to previous state. Tried [CPU 0%OC] and [Expert] ... nothing worked.

Tried setting tRC but option on bios only goes to 31 :| don't know if I have to config more advanced memory options...

It's working now, don't know if it's stable yet...

          Freq: 500mhz
          FSBRAM: 3:5 (Auto)
          CL 5
          tRCD 5
          tRAS 15
          tRC 30 (Auto)
          CR 2T
voltage 2.14 on (HWMonitor volt in DDR).

I would like to ask one more question, I have 2x1GB F2-6400CL4D-PK, can I mix them with the ones I have, if I leave everything on auto? will I get better performance or just keeping the 8000 ones if enough?

Sorry for asking so many questions... I am new at this, trying to learn everything I can, to get the most out of my pc

          Thanks again for your support.

You can try, but I don't think they will mix well together.

You may need to try DDR2-800 5-5-5-15 first.

            Thank you
