  • F2-8500 CL5D-4GBPK and GA-P35-DS4 problems

I have two sets of F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK totaling 8GB. The two sets were manufactured at different times, so they're not matched. I can get memtest to pass when using only 4GB but when I try and use 8GB it fails. System is unclocked. My MOBO is a GA-P35-DS4 rev 2.0 with BIOS version F14.

    I'm using these BIOS settings:
    DRAM Timing Selectable - Manual
    CAS Latency - 5
    tRCD - 5
    tRP - 5
    tRAS - 15

    Advanced Timing Control
    tRRD - 4
    tWTR - 4
    tWR - 8
    tRFC - 80
    tRTP - 4

    Load Line Calibration - Disabled
MCH OverVoltage Control +.35 (maxes out at +.375)
DDR2 OverVoltage Control +.25 (gives me about 2.12v)
    Loadline Calibration: disabled

I suspect perhaps there is a BIOS problem because I notice other (newer) Gigabyte problems were solved with a BIOS update. Perhaps I should get a P45 MOBO? Or is it because they're not a matching quad set of modules? If I RMA them would I be able to get a quad matching set?

Make sure each kit is in the same color slots. It is possible the two kits are not fuly compatible.

It appears to be the case as well since DRAM Voltage 2.10V and NB Voltage 1.40V should work.

Feel free to send them in for RMA and two new kits should work better.

    Thank you
