I have two sets of F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK totaling 8GB. The two sets were manufactured at different times, so they're not matched. I can get memtest to pass when using only 4GB but when I try and use 8GB it fails. System is unclocked. My MOBO is a GA-P35-DS4 rev 2.0 with BIOS version F14.
I'm using these BIOS settings:
DRAM Timing Selectable - Manual
CAS Latency - 5
tRCD - 5
tRP - 5
tRAS - 15
Advanced Timing Control
tRRD - 4
tWTR - 4
tWR - 8
tRFC - 80
tRTP - 4
Load Line Calibration - Disabled
MCH OverVoltage Control +.35 (maxes out at +.375)
DDR2 OverVoltage Control +.25 (gives me about 2.12v)
Loadline Calibration: disabled
I suspect perhaps there is a BIOS problem because I notice other (newer) Gigabyte problems were solved with a BIOS update. Perhaps I should get a P45 MOBO? Or is it because they're not a matching quad set of modules? If I RMA them would I be able to get a quad matching set?
