  • setting up 6400CL4D

Just assembled a system as below, and set the timings down to 4-4-4-12 and the voltage at 2.0v as it's rated. I haven't ran a thorough test yet, but it's held up to software install and furmark without crashing. I'll be running memtest and such later today and I'll report back if it gets unstable.

Anyway, I went into the BIOS expecting to just set the timings and voltage, but there's a ton of other settings for DRAM in there... that I have no clue about. I don't plan on overclocking anything on this rig(yet, anyway), so aside from that are there any other changes to the DRAM setting you would suggest to go along with these timings and voltage for this model?

    Hardware:
    Phenom II X3 720
    Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P
    6400CL4D 2x2GB
    XFX HD 4770
    WD 750GB Black
    Corsair 750TX PSU

No, as long as the basic memory settings are configured, the rest will detect properly on it's own.

    Thank you
