  • Help! 1200mhz Trident + EVGA 780I rig

    Hello,

Just received my new memory from Newegg, the Trident 1200MHZ DDR2 memory. I cannot get the memory to run at 1200mhz. I get the following error, on boot up gets to the windows screen and then BSOD. I have cleared Cmos and set it back to 1066mhz and it works fine. As soon as I raise it up the system crashes.

    G. Skill Trident

MOBO: EVGA 780I w/ latest bios update P10
    CPU: Q9650 + Zalman 9500 cpu cooler
    Power Supply: Corsair TX750
    Memory: G. skill Trident DDR2 1200mhz (F2-9600CL5D-4GBTD)
    Video Card: 2 X 9800GX2 Quad SLI
    HDD: 2 X Raptor 300GB Raid 0
    Monitor: ASUS 24"
    OS: Windows 7 64bit

I have pictures to show setup, just trying to figure out how to attach them!

Do you have 8 for tWR? Try memory voltage 1.90V.

    Thank you

In my bios settings my TWR does not go that high, it only goes up to 6 and that is what it is set at.

I have tried increasing voltage to 1.9v and same thing, the system BSODs.....

I believe I have a bad set of ram!

        Please advise,

I got ahold of Memtest86+ and have been running it after various changes! If I run the memory at specified specs mainly voltage 1.8V it does not have any errors. As soon as i take it up even one notch to 1.825v I start to see errors by the time it gets up to test 3 i already have about 400 errors. If I raise voltage up higher to 2.0v the errors are exponential? New at all this overclocking stuff is that normal? Or is the memory supposed to do that.....

        1.8V
        1200MHZ
        5-5-5-15-2T

Works fine no errors! Even the slightest bit of change in voltage you start to see errors in Memtest86+

Try one stick at a time, and see if both will cause errors.

          Thank you
