  • F2-9600CL6D-4GBRH & asus M4A758-M

I haven't seen this setup listed anywhere else on this forum, so I started a new thread.
With everything set to auto cpuz says the memory is running at 400mhz.
With settings i found on this site of similar memory i got it set to 533mhz but im obviously missing something.

Anyone have a full list of bios changes necessary to have the memory run at 1200mhz ?

Manually set your base timings to 6-6-6-18, DRAM Voltage at 2.0, Speed at 1200, and Command Rate at 2T or 2N if that's how it's shown

Is your mobo a 758 or 785, not familiar with a 758, is it a house model for a maker? If it's a 785 you'll probably have to OC the CPU and it might still be iffy. 1200 an OC speed on the 785.

yeah i was a little hasty in writing the post if an admin would fix that and the tags it would probably be helpful for anyone with this setup.

anyway the highest speed option it gives me is 533mhz.
overclocking cpu from 2800 to 3100 all stable but memory is only 533 still.
whats the bios abbreviation for command rate? all other settings were set.

Set you CPU freq. to 225 or what ever # it takes until you reach 1200mhz. also don't depend on the Auto option . You will never reach 1200mhz. in auto and you may have to raise NB voltage. Do not start with the highest values, Small increasments. Then boot up and run stress test. Like use winrar. to compress a file or uncompress, Burn a movie, Play 3 or 4 differant games for a 1/2 hr each. If you get through that then your good.

The 758 seems real hard to get info on. I did find it @ ASUS in the support section.

As far as i can tell you first need to go to Advanced clock calibration to enabled. Then you should have the ability to change the Freq. of your CPU X. 225 ish

You need to post a full bios pic

It seams like advanced calibration or equivalent is enabled.
need more pics? let me know.

Ok. You fist off need to change CPU Freq. to auto. Change the CPU/HT Ref. Clock to 225. Put NB/HTL in auto. Your going to have to raise the CPU V. up but no further than 1.5V (DO NOT GO OVER THAT) Try it @ 1.4V, Raise the NB in small increasments. I am not familiar with ASUS but i know i have you on the rite track as i am running the same ram but with 8gb with a 940. You can refere to my thread under my user name to cross referance what i have been trying to do. I am not sure about the trfc values. I would go with the the higher values as far as that. This is a trial and error thing. If 225 is not running stable then give or take but remember to not go over the max voltages for your equipment. You will see the mem clock value go up when you change the CPU/HT ref clock. So kick that up until you are running @ 1200mhz. Your HTL and NB freq. will go up. They need not to go over 2600 that is the max. as it is a X2 multiplier and will run @ 5200. I hope this helps you. Also i would checkout some of the Overclockers forums out there to see what other people did with your setup and ran it stable. Here are a few that i look @ .

There is alot of research when it comes to AMD . Because it does not state by Newegg.com that this ram is mostly for Intel chipsets. They get a Front side bus and we get CPU/HTL freq. and they have a better DDR2 controller aparently. People in our situation are pioneers. Because there arent many of us that will achieve 1200mhz with a AMD. I am running mine @ 1066. But i know i will never see 1200 with 8gb and i don't know if it's better to have 4gb @ 1200 or 8gb @ 1066 ? Well i am going to sleep as i am off to the Bahamas tomorrow.............................Good Luck
