Ok, i have an Am2+ platform with soon to be a Phenom II x4 955, and i was wondering if anyone has ever gotten 2x2 gb sticks to work @ ddr2-1200?? I know that it will be creating a heck of a lot of heat, but i was thinking of buying some Gskill Tridents, and a memory fan. Is it really too crazy to try ddr2-1200? I was thinking these : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231271
are my best bet. What do you guys think?
BTW my mobo is an ASUS M4N82 Deluxe

Well, dunno about Tridents or AM2+ boards, but I do know it's possible to run an 1200Mhz and trust me it ain't even heating. It'll need quite insane voltage something like over 2.4v, if I recall latencies rises to high that it's almost unusable setup since the memory will be faster than 1200Mhz at 1100Mhz, but considering Phenom X4 II L3 cache speeds increase against this stabilizing such would be really hard.

Either way, it would be really slow setup compared to search an limit of last speed against lower CL than 6 or 7.

Thanks AMD/ATI for banning legit customers who asks questions of your screw-ups:

It may take a bit of tuning, so it simply depends if you are interested in configuring it. Should have no issues on that motherboard, so it's definitely worth a shot. Keep us posted on your results if you choose to do so.

      Thank you

OK, well i will try it then.....i will probably have to get a really good fan. also i was wondering how hot the mem would get....cause i could buy a diferent heatsink for it such as : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233033
and that would hopefully solve all heat issues (Would that void the warranty?). I get my phenom II 955 in September, so hopefully i will be posting then, i may have to have someone help me lol. as for right now i am stuck with my Athlon X2 >.<, but i am going to go ahead and purchase the ram soon. As for the heatsink i am not sure. Thank you, and hopefully i will be able to get it @ 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8 like it says....although i think i wil prob have to bump up voltage lol, and my IMC will be getting really hot @ 1200 lol, but i think my Dark knigt will be able to withstand the heat.
