I have 64GB of F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC
Trident Z Neo
DDR4-3600 CL16-19-19-39 1.35V
16GB (2x8GB)
This kit worked perfectly in XMP with two previous AMD builds. A 3950X and a 5950X.
I have just upgraded my system to a 13900k and a Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 with the idea that my ram was fully compatible. (OTHERWISE, I JUST WOULD HAVE UPGRADED TO A DDR5 SYSTEM AND BOUGHT NEW RAM!)
However, after days of frustration, confusion and anger, I now know that this ram is not compatible with this motherboard to run in XMP.
This is where I am at: I can boot without XMP on and then in the bios switch on XMP but the highest frequency I can get it to is 3100. It is rock solid with setting XMP on and then dialling it back to 3100.
It will not boot in XMP unless I dial it back to 3100. The voltage is not touched nor are the timings. Just turning on XMP and then dialling it back to 3100.
I have read in other posts that I can manually tune the RAM.
Is there a guide for the proper way to manually tune this RAM to see if I can get more out of it?
Will I ever get the rated 3600mhz out of it? or should I just forget about it and be happy I'm getting 3100mhz?
Thanks for any help.
