  • Trident Z5 RGB and ASRock X670E Steel Legend

Hello. When I try to run the Trident 32 gig kit memory in XMP 1 mode, I get artifacts on my screen and have to reset the bios. The bios defaults to JEDEC 4800. Any clues on how to get this memory to run at XMP1 6400 properly? If I choose XMP1, the settings in the bios defaults to 32-38-38-102 at 1.40 volt (even though the selection shows the same settings on the memory box). Looking at the memory settings on the box the memory came it, it states CL32-39-39-102 1.40v. Should I manually put in these settings? Thoughts? Bios version is 1.11.

That board and none of the other AM5 models are qualified for this SKU. They can't reach frequencies this high without manual tuning, which is the main reason why the QVL of kits like that only contains Intel Z690/Z790 models (apart from it being one of the XMP enabled models).

So you either have to use the XMP with a reduced frequency (DDR5-6000 should work in most cases) or could try to manually overclock the memory. Just make sure the modules are installed in the two primary DIMM slots (A2 & B2) and follow one of many guides for the platform.

The alternative would be get a different kit that actually is compatible with your motherboard. Then just select one from the configurator:

IMO you might have to check other voltages (connected to RAM voltage) to run memory at 1.4v.

I'm running similar DDR5 Z5 Intel kit in B650 ASRock motherboard

        a) I had to update BIOS because mine was not even booting

        b) it run fine on XMP profile, but it was only 5600mhz @1.2v. When I want to overclock it and run @1.35v I have to set up a couple other voltages.

m440, thanks. Any idea the difference between 1.24 and 1.24.AS02?
