Why does the SLC drives have a shorter warranty than the MLC drives? Im not complaining, just curious.

Just to add to Athari's question, sorta wondering why a 2 year warranty (which I realize is what most MLC SSDs have) which amounts to less than 18,000 hours, when the claimed MTBF Rate is estimated at 1,500,000 hours?

MTBF and Warranty have never really lined up for any products (Magnetic drives, or even pretty much any other computer hardware)

most SSD products have 1 years warranty during that time. later everyone increases the SSD warranty to 2 - 3 years. we just follow
