  • First set of G Skill ram

So I just ordered a set of 6gb G. Skill Pi 1600Mhz, CAS 7's and im already excited for them to arrive, this is replacing 12gb of mixed OCZ "crapram". Personally im liking how many manufacturer responses there are on newegg, and can see this is going to be a company i'll be buying from for a long time (sofar iv only got one company I completely rely on, being eVGA)

Im interested to try to push this ram to CAS 6 and as near to 2000Mhz as I can, anyone got advice for this stuff of a R3E mobo?

Thanks, im glad to have joined to community, I only wish you guys made sata III SSDs because I would have ordered that over the Crucial, especially with Crucial's garbage write speed of 75Mb/s.

CAS6 is possible with lower frequency or more voltage.

DDR3-2000 is possible with higher CAS or more voltage.

But you can't do both. You would need our best F3-16000CL6T-6GBPID kit for that kind of performance.

To stabilize memory, you just need to tweak the QPI/DRAM Voltage and memory settings to your desired frequency and CAS.

    Thank you

Different heat spreader and IC chips. Both are performance series that many people use for gaming, graphics editing, overclocking, etc. The Trident series wins awards all the time for its max performance, cooling, and design.

But there's not really a decernable who's better to it? By te way I'm loving getting responses from Somone from G. Skill, thats the most impressive customer support Iv ever seen.

So happy I bought this over dominators (which by the sounds of reviews are a POS)

The Trident > PI, but it just comes down to particular timings and specifications.

Ah crap for $30 more I shoulda gotten trident... Oh well, btw does that 48gb ripjaw kit actualy sell? I mean you bassicly need a SR2 for it, and unless your using it as a server 48 is way overkill. Now a 9gb kit I'd love!

Of course it does. They are limited, so of course the quantity is not the same as 4GB kits, but there are many people that need this memory and the SR-2 to get work done. To some, 48GB is not excessive at all. It just depends on your usage.

                        Thank you
