  • F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ - OC'ing

    Hello All,

I have an EVGA N790i Ultra SLI MoBo and a Q9550,

I am aware that my 790i is a DChan board and the ram I have is a 6gig Tri-Chan kit,
I have removed 1 chip (brings it to 4gig) and placed them in the DC setup,

    I have had success stabalising this at 1800fsb with 900Mhz 11-11-11-29 2T, 1.6Volts
    I had some success with this setting at 900Mhz 10-10-10-27 2T, 1.6Volts

I am trying to get this to overclock to 1884fsb (Q9550@4Ghz)(I run linked and Sync'ed). Do you think it will be possible on these chips? I dont want to slip the timmings any more.

What would be the Max recommended voltage to put through these chips?
I have a G.skill RAM cooler and good case airflow.

Is there any ways that you know of to reach this level?

    Cheers,
    Aus.

Max voltage should be 1.70V, try that and see how high it will go, then work your way down for memory voltage.

    Thank you

      Awsome,

Thanks for the quick reply, It really gave me a sigh of relief knowing that I have a whole nother volt to play with.

I will give it a go tonight and see what I can get away with.

I will post up my results once I get it stabalised.

      Thanks again,
      Aus.

        You can try

        1866 by using 11-10-9-30 (1.60 V)
        1890 by using 10-10-10-24 2T at (1.7V)

Had some minor tinkering last night and wasnt able to get it stable at 1900 fsb,

Tonight i will put in a hard effort to get it that last step.

I tried dropping the times @ 1800fsb but it kept cracking the dirties with me..

i'll give your 1890 setup a try tonight tommy,

With that setup what advanced settings do you use?

            OK,

Unfortunatly i ended up with HDD corruption and could not continue my quest in OC'ing

This NQ F3-12800CL9T is pretty good but i am having a hard time keeping it stable above 1600fsb, ive had it close at 1800fsb, but the times were really relaxed. I have got the system up and running again and will give it another crack tonight.

With the relaxed timing, and the OC's your into you'll have to get into the advanced timings also raising tRFC, tRC, etc.
