  • Possible to run ddr3 10600 with 10660?

Yeah, I was wondering if it is possible to run 4g(2x2) ddr3 10660(model # is F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ) with 2g(1x1) ddr3 10600(model # is F3-10600CL9D-2GBNQ)? I already have the 2g set. I was just needing to know if they would run together in dual channel.

    System:
    Amd Phenom II x3 720
    ASRock M3A780GXH/128M
    GSkill 2g DDR3 1333
    XFX Radeon Hd4830

According to ASRock, if you want to populate all 4 slots the sticks should be identical, but technically speaking you could probably get them to work together, though it's not something I'd want to play with, especially with an AMD CPU. To get them to work together you'll probably have to over volt the 1GB sticks, which will make them run hotter, and thus make the other pair also run hotter. I'd suggest getting the 4GB and running it, then adding another 4 (either now or later)....and make sure you're running a 64bit OS if using over 4.
