  • is my falcon2 64gb failing

im watching my ssd pile up numbers in SMART in hdtune.
the numbers that keep on raising are:

    C6 OFFLINE UNCORRECTABLE
C7 ULTRA DMA CRC ERROR COUNT
    C8 WRITE ERROR RATE
    C9 SOFT READ ERROR RATE
    CA DATA ADDRESS MARKER ERRORS
    CB RUN OUT CANCEL

after firmware update they go to zero, but then with SSD working they climb up again

for now the only problem with the drive is that it locks up and disappears from the list until i switch off the computer, and there have been a few lockups and hangs, but nothing too serious

bad thing about this is that i have got it on 21st of January 2010. and its now about 20 days past 2 year warranty :S talk about some bad luch

is there anything that can be done here to help me?

    thanks for the info guys

try to secure and erase the drive and re-install firmware1916, then 2030.
this way should be able to solve your problem. please check the sticky thread and follow the steps.

For the Falcon series(not Falcon II),

please make sure that you are using correct firmware, and erase the drive by firmware 1916(with clean function), after clean the drive, re-install firmware 1916, then 2030.
