  • Cold Boot, SSD Boot drive missing

I have this issue with the Cold boot, drive missing in bios, poweroff, poweron quickly and everything boots up just fine.

From what I've read in here there is some mystery incompatibility caused by the SandForce1200 controllers? But I can't find ANYWHERE, what this "phantom" incompatibility is?

    Here are my specs.

Asus M4A89-GTD Pro (non usb3, AMD 890GX Chipset)

AMD X6 1055T Six core CPU

    Corsair Dual Channel 4096MB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Memory (2x2048MB) TW3X4G1333C9DHX

Nvidia 460GT (I think) video card

I've tried MS AHCI drivers, AMD AHCI drivers, etc.

Can anyone comment on what the actual "incompatibility" is?

Are you sure you dont have a bad sata cable?Im running my ssd on a 3 year old M3N72-D ASUS board and never had a problem.

I can safely say I'm sure it's not the cable. Just tried it in my laptop tonight and Im getting similar behavior. Dell Latitude D620's obviously do not have a SATA cable, so I'm pretty sure thats not it.

On the laptop if I reboot from the operating system, upon the machine POST the drive is missing. Hold down the power button to fully power off, power back on and it boots up no problems.

So I don't think it's anything related to AMD chipsets, the D620 obviously is a Intel chipset.

So, now I'm totally lost. Maybe I do have a "temperamental" drive? Whats the best way to get a response from Gskill about RMAing or a possible fix?
