  • Phoenix Pro 40GB, not even 15k IOPS with ahci

    Hi all,

So I am running i3-530, H55, RST 9.6 with Windows 7 and I got the Phoenix Pro today and tested it with HD TUNE to see if I can 50K IOPS. Oops, things happened. I only got around 12K IOPS with around 150MB/S read speed. Also with 240 bad sectors based on the S.M.A.R.T. data. I am so frustrated! The reason I bought this SSD is that is uses unlocked SF-1200 controller, but it seems that this is not I should get. Everyone, please help.

    Best Regards,
    Matt

    Dear matth3w,
The performance would depend on the hardware and software.
Would your clean your SSD by secure erase and test it again. Also be sure to plug your SSD on the native intel H55 SATA port(refer to your motherboard user guide) and set SATA as AHCI, create the partition by windows 7 for disk aligned.
The IOPS 50k could be measured under intel IOmeter 2008 with the condition: 32 outstanding;4KB file size; 100% random; 100% write; 4KB aligned.
The SMART issue with HDTune or Crystaldiskmark would be solved in the next version firmware update.
