  • 120 GB Version of Phoenix Pro the slowest one??!

    Hi there,

it seems a bit strange that the 120 GB Version of your new Phoenix Pro SSD Series is the slowest one..

    I request a retest. :-P

Please retest all Phoenix Pro Versions with the newest benchmark apps.
E.g. HD Tune Pro 4.50, etc.

I like the way you show the performance of your SSD drives with screenshots on the product pages of several bench tools.
Maybe you could add the AS SSD Benchmark from here: http://www.alex-is.de/PHP/fusion/downloads.php?cat_id=4

The 60 GB and 240 GB Version is faster compared to the 120 GB Version of the Phoenix Pro SSD Series, so I hope this is a mistake or bench error:
    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=284

The differences compared to the 60 GB and 240 GB Version are:
    1. No average transfer rate, access time, burst rate and cpu usage on HD Tune Pro write bench screenshot.

    2. Lower IOPS and avg. speed especially at 4k for read and write with HD Tune Pro
    READ 4k: 21k vs. 20k IOPS / 82 vs. 80 MB/s speed
    WRITE 4k: 18k vs. 17k IOPS / 72 vs. 69 MB/s speed

    3. Lower IOPS at IOMeter
(Could you post a better screen of IOMeter or an additional one with the specs? Like here:
http://www.myce.com/review/ocz-verte...est-results-5/ (4k random read and write screenshot..))

    Thanks in advance!

    regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON from Germany

      Hi vaca,

      thanks I would appreciate that!

But please update the screenshot of the 120 GB Version, because I want to buy it, but not if the 120 GB Version is really slower than the 60 GB or 240 GB Version..

      regards,

      iNsuRRecTiON

PS: And if this is really true, then please explain why the 120 GB Version is the slowest one..

        hi iNsuRRecTiON,

i have retested our Phoenix Pro model again and update the website.

The greater capacity has bette performance for most cases.

only on HDTUNE PRO (i don't have v4.5 yet) the 60GB model get a little higher performance on 4K

random read/write but the difference is so tiny that you treat them as the same.

          Hi vaca,

          thanks for your response.

But why you don't have or get the newest HD Tune Pro 4.5 version?!

I thougth the update is free for a licensed customer of HD Tune Pro 4.x? A simply download?!

          regards,

            STill no update?

            Hi there,

            still no update on this?

I'm wondering why you don't use the latest versions of the bench apps..

ATTO is at version 2.46 and HD Tune Pro at 4.5..

Please say whether you will bench with the newest version and if not why.

            regards,

            iNsuRRecTiON

              Another Question

              Hi,

I have question about the method used in the IOMeter test.

              What parameters do you set?

How can I repeat that 50k IOPS test with my Phoenix Pro?

Is it on 4k random read? Or 4k random write? Or what settings/test pattern?

              regards,

              iNsuRRecTiON

You have to set SATA to AHCI and make your disk align.
                Then run iometer 2008.06 with setting:32 of outstanding I/Os; 4KB transfer request size; 100% write;
                100% random, Align I/Os on 4KB.
