  • Losing performance on G.skill Phoenix Pro 120G

    Hello there, well i bought my ssd like a year ago and performance is going down, day after day... well, read values are good, but write is the worst...

    what i can do to improve the write values?

    Could be from write amplification, in simplest terms, writes are the bane of SSDs, ideally you should have the SSD set up to eliminate writes to the drive, i.e. have your OS and primary apps on the drive, but redirect all temp files, caches, oft used data files, etc to a conventional HD....Think I'd suggest making sure things like those mentioned earlier are all moved to a conventional drive and deleted from your SSD, then make an image of your SSD, then do a secure erase or reformat the SSD to take it back to it's original form..then restore the image and go from there.

      i don't need to save my image, when i format i like to lose all files...
      so can i just format it, then secure erase, then instal O.S again?
