a couple months ago, i used parted magic to secure erase my sniper ssd and it basically trashed the ssd. everything went smoothly during the secure erase of the ssd. the ssd had the latest 4.2 firmware on it. after the secure erase, bios didn't detect it, tried unplugging/replugging cabling to the ssd with no luck. slaving the drive to another machine didn't show the drive at all. it would stall the bootup into the bios menu with the drive plugged in. i basically had the drive rma'd.
i just want to know if others out there ran into a similar problem with using secure erase with parted magic on their gskill ssd. is it simply my particular ssd that was faulty? is it a combo of firmware version and bad ssd? at some point i'll have to secure erase the new ssd but i'm weary at the idea that it'll brick the drive again.
