  • Asus STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 and TridentZ RGB (F4-400C18Q-128GTZR)

    Hi all,

I have a kit of 128 GB RAM (4* 32GB), which I have bought last year, and I want to use it in an new motherboard I have just bought (STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4).
The CPU is an intel 12900k.

What should I expect from this kit? The kit has an XMP of 4000/C18@ 1.40V.

I tried to enable "XMP I" in the board (take frequency and let the board manage timings), and after a while the bios reset, and it was back to default.

Thus, I load optimised defaults, and changed only frequency (with everything else at "auto"). This way, the max frequency I can achieve is 3200 (C19 set automatically by the board), at 1.32V (agai set automatically by the board).

In the past, I had tried the kit in an asus dark hero with an 5950X, and loading DCOP and lowering frequence to 3800 & 1.35V, it was easy to get a stable system.

Is the 12900k limited to 3200? What can I expect from this kit with an 12900k?

Are there any recommended settings I would try?

    Regards,

    George
