  • 4x16gb vs 2x32gb ryzen build

    Hi everyone,

Could someone please tell me between these 2 kits would perform the best for a ryzen 5900x. I've been lead to believe that 2x32gb will be better because of the memory layout. But the timings are so much better on the 4x16Gb kit. Please can you confirm. These are the 2 kits I'm looking at

    Thank you

First kit with lower timings is better.

The daisy chain layout of the MB only really comes into play, once you go beyond the max frequency that the secondary DIMM slots can handle. So performance-wise at their rated speeds (3200) the quad kit with the better timings will come out on top. It is also a pretty popular model with lots of overclocking headroom, if you ever decide to try and push them beyond their XMP. Any somewhat decent 3rd gen AM4 motherboard should be able to handle 4x16GB @ 3600+.
