  • F4-3200C14D-16GTZSK won't boot on Asus ROG Maximus Hero X

    Hi,

    New forum member here.

After purchasing a Trident Z 16GB DDR4 16GTZSK K2 RAM (F4-3200C14D-16GTZSK) to add to my previous pair and upgrade my total memory to 32 GB on my Maximus Hero X, when trying to boot up the PC I keep getting a q-code of 55 (memory not found). After several attempts and combinations, I came to the conclusion that one of my memory modules might be faulty:
    • The previous pair (16GB) runs without any issues
    • The new pair on its own (16GB) won't boot up the PC (q-code 55)
      • Tried both slots (A and B), using multiple combinations
    • Running the previous pair + 1 of the newest module (24GB), PC boots up
    • After identifying which of the newest module is causing the problem, tried to boot up the PC using it (8GB), covering all individual slots between reboots - no joy. The motherboard won't POST.
Did I receive a faulty product that must be RMAd?

Appears to be the case if you notice one module performs differently than the other. Within 30 days of purchase the vendor should be able to exchange it, otherwise, you can send them directly to G.Skill for RMA as well:
