  • RAM Upgrade Gigabyte GA-890FXA UD5 v2.0 AMD 1090T

I have a Gigabyte GA-890FXA UD5 version 2.0.with an AMD 1090T. I am currently running with 8 Gigabytes of Gskill EVO RAM. I will need to replace all 4 sticks of RAM that are currently in the board. I need to know if this RAM will work with my system. G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL. I don't overclock, but I would like to have that option. If this is not a good choice, I welcome suggestions. Does this board support 2 Sticks of 8MB.

That is a great choice. You can find the set up guide in the DDR3 section stickys

The motherboard does support 8GB modules:

Is there any benefit to using 2 8 gig modules versus 4 4 gig modules. Any performance hit? My motherboard is version 2.0 with the F6 BIOS. (Gigabyte GA-890FXA UD5 version 2.0)
      Thanks for quick reply.

Less modules is better since there are only 2 modules to power and control.
