    Nytrix,

Sounds like it may be a defective motherboard or CPU.

    Thank you

I already have the latest BIOS and i already have raise the Northbridge voltage +0.10v. But do i need to raise the vCore too ??
I actually run with 2Gb at 1333Mhz 8-8-8-24 and it's very stable, no error in Memtest. But when i want to put my other module of 2Gb, the system refuses to boot, i don't understand it... However, this module works correctly when it is lonely.

To resume, my system supports 4gb to 1066Mhz (not stable), but only 2Gb at 1333Mhz (very stable).

    Thank's alot for helping me

You'll want the latest BIOS, next would try at 1333, very few 955s can carry 1600 sticks. Will also prob need to raise CPU/NB voltage about + 0.10

Hi, i've got a big problem for a long time !

    I've got this :
    G.Skill RipJaws PC12800 2x2Gb CL9 (9-9-9-24) DDR3 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231277 )
    Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P (lastest BIOS)
AMD Phenom II 955 BE @3.2Ghz
    Windows Seven 64 bits

My ram never worked at 1600Mhz, even with settings mentionned in the first post of this topic !! I've tried many many many differents settings and nothing works, my PC doesn't even boot.
So i've tried @1333Mhz 8-8-8-24 and what a surprise, it only works with ONE module, when i put the other one to have my 4Gb correctly, the system refuses to boot again ! WTF is this ?
Noticed that : i tried the two modules separately and twice worked fine, but never together, so i can only have 2Gb... And the system is very stable with 2Gb.

To have my 4Gb, I can only set my frequency to 1066Mhz with those timing : 7-6-6-19.
And it's absolutely not stable, BSOD and freezes everytime, it gets on my nerves!! Even if a up my CPU NB voltage to 1.20v, my HT link frequency and my Northbridge frequency to 2200Mhz, my DDR3 voltage to 1.6v or even 1.7v...

I want a stable rig, with frequency I paid for ! Not 1066Mhz ! What do you suggest me to do ? I spend all my time yesterday and today to find something correct but i didn't succeed, i'm done with it... PLZ HELP ME !!!

I did what you said and it seems to be working! The changes I made have stuck.

    Thank you!

Make sure you have the latest BIOS.

Make sure the modules are installed in the same color slots furthest away from the CPU.

Set DRAM Frequency, timings, and voltage.

Then everything should be good to go.

If you still have a problem, test one module at a time to see if one may be bad causing problems.

I only have two slots which both are occupied by my RAM. What do you mean set frequency, timings, and voltage?

Hi, I'm having problems after following your guide to the best of my ability.
My computer's specifications are as follows:
    AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz (Black Edition) -- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103962
    GIGABYTE GA-880GM-D2H (REV. 3.1) -- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128458
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) -- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231277

After following both of your guides (Black Edition and Non-Black Edition) I have not been able to boot successfully.
This is a picture of my BIOS' standard default settings (before I make any changes):

After I make the changes you suggest in your Black Edition guide, my computer fails to boot entirely. There is no system beep, no splash screen, and my monitors do not even turn on (even when plugged directly in to the motherboard and not my video card).
Here are pictures of after I make the changes listed in your Black Edition guide:

After trying this multiple times, I attempted your Non-Black Edition guide.
Here are the pictures of the changes I made following your guide:

And here is the error it returns:

That is an unlocked CPU, you can raise CPU Ratio and VCore to stabilize CPU OC.

The AUTO overclock utilities should never be used. It is always best to do it manually by learning how. It is not that difficult, and you can find lots of help like on this forum.

    Thank you

I went ahead and completely reset my BIOs to default settings then manually entered the proper settings for the RAM and now the RAM is running at the specs it is suppose to.

I had to lose my OC on my CPU though. I suppose I will just have to run it this way for a while and see which setting I prefer. Ram at 1600 or with CPU OC'ed..

Note: Bringing the RAM to proper settings did raise the RAM WEI another +.2

Yes but only after letting Asus AutoTune make the initial OC. Then I try to go back and re-adjust the RAM myself.

If you think it would benefit me, I could go back and reset the BIOs to default and retry tweaking the RAM.

    ThatGuyJohn,

Did you manually input the proper settings as stated in the very first page of this thread?
