May want to check your mobo specs, believe the EVO only takes a MAX of 16GB in a 4x4GB set....the set you mention is a 2x8GB set
Thanks for the reply. Yeah you're right on the 4x4gb.

So, having had another look at my mobo's specs, I think the Ripjaw Z's (F3-12800CL9Q-16GBZL) might work. Then again, I'm not sure though. As you can tell, I'm terrible at this!

Hey man, the Snipers were all good, worked like a charm, plug and play with no worries. Thanks for your help Tradie.
Haven't tried overclocking them yet though. Will do so in due course.

    Hi,

I'm looking at buying Ripjaw 16gb (F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL) but I just want to make sure that it's compatible with my PC or if you can suggest something else/better.

    Mobo - Asus M4A87td evo
    CPU - AMD Phenom II x6 1090t

From what I can tell, it should but I just want to make sure before ordering.

    Thanks

Thank you, will order those instead.
    Cheers.

Compatible RAM with Asus M4A87TD/USB3 motherboard

I'm looking at getting this ram (G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL ). Should I expect any problems with my Asus M4A87TD/USB3 motherboard? I'm aware it isn't in the QVL but not much RAM is.
Is there any other 2x4GB RAM that you can recommend for me to get.

Will be paired with a AMD X6 1090T.

    Thanks.

Looking good, great work - all this can be a pain, but in the end when you get things good and stable it's very rewarding

Small update, everything is running good so far.

Even overclocked the fx8150 with all 8 cores @4ghz with stock-vCore.
    cpu/nb@2400 mhz, ht-link@2600 mhz, cpu/nb-voltage +0.100V.
I did set 9 9 9 24 33 clocks maunually and disabled all the amd stuff that is lowering cpu-ratio and voltages.

Everything else is pretty much on default

I'm pretty confortable with these settings atm, hope i can run it like this in the long term.
So far it was primestable for 2hours.

I have cpu/nb at 2400mhz and ht-link at 2600mhz and increased cpu/nb-voltage 0.100V now and it is primestable for 22 min.

Maybe going to Test longer for stability later, but it is looking pretty good now.

    Thanks

Not really, no, if it were higher it would a bit faster, but then too, might not be stable. May just be the CPUs limit
