Reboots...failed Stride 6 (win memtest)

Hi,

I keep getting reboots and other "cannot read memory" errors during gameplay.

model of the motherboard: MSI x48 Plat
model of the memory: Gskill CL7 1600 7-7-7-18 (2x1GB) F3-12800CL7D-2GBHZ
model of the CPU: e8500 45nm


I downloaded and ran window memtest (mtinst.exe) from a floppy boot disk. I gave it 3 passes, and every pass it failed Stride6, but passed all other tests.

Here are the failed addresses:

pass 1: 18b6ba78 expected 00000000 actual 00000010
pass 2: 1aaab8c8 expected 00000000 actual 00000010
pass 3: 3332ba48 expected 00000000 actual 00000010

EDIT: Reseated dimms, and reran memtest. Now I'm getting lots of LRAND failures along with my Stride 6 failures.
EDIT: FYI, I'm running at stock cpu/fsb speeds and voltages (that is 333x9.5/1333)

Please advise. I just purchased a couple weeks ago from NewEgg. Thanks!

you're only running at DDR3 1333 9-9-9-24
you'll need to overclock your CPU FSB to 400 to run at DDR3 1600
and please set cpu ratio to 8 and dram timing 7-7-7-18 2T@1.9v manually in BIOS

still having a problem (SECOND SET OF DIMMS)

Actually, I had already tried all those settings but forgot to detail those attempts for you. Since my last post, I have returned the dimms to newegg, for replacement. I received the new ones today and tested via memtest86+ 2.11 immediately. The 2nd set of BRAND NEW DIMMS are AGAIN FAILING MEMTEST (and causing crashes in XP). Here are my settings and my test results.
Also, my memory voltage is 1.88v, my NB voltage is 1.38v, and my cpu multiplier is x8 as suggested.



Please advise.

try to set TRFC to 88-96
if it still can't work, would you like to try another motherboard?
we checked this issue with MSI and it seems not easy to run DDR3 1600 CL7 on this motherboard

PS. Did you suggest I buy a new motherboard? Isn't that like cutting my head off to save my foot? Motherboards = $130-300 and ram= $70-100. Am I missing something? Or is that just wishful thinking on your part?

as we know from MSI, this motherboard is not so good to run at DDR3 1600 CL7
if you would like to run DDR3 1600 CL7, it would be better to change another motherboard
