Hi Everyone,
I am having no luck trying to run 2 x F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ kits on my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 mobo. The kits are rated at 1600 but I am unable to even run them stable at 1066.
I have tried running each kit separately and the best stable speed I could achieve was 1333.
My system specs are as follows:
- Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 Rev 1.0 F6 BIOS
- Intel Core i7-930
- 2 x F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ kits (12GB)
- Lian-Li 750W PSU
- 2 x Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD5670 1GB DDR5 in CrossfireX mode
- LG BH10LS30 Blu Ray burner
- 2 x Seagate 320GB HDD's in RAID0
- 2 x Segate 1TB HDD
- 1 x Western Digital 1TB HDD
I have tried the following things so far:
- Tested each kit saeperately at 1066 with memtest - no errors found
- Increased DRAM voltage to 1.65V and QTI voltage to 1.4V - system still crashes
- Disable Intel Turbo Boost - no apparent effect
- Fiddled with various BIOS settings as per many threads I have read in this forum
- Banged my head repeatedly on my desk
- Sworn constantly at my system
- Cursed the aliens who supplied us with this technology
I use the system for video editing, graphic design, audio production, and gaming. The ability to use the full 12GB at the rated speed of 1600 would be most beneficial, particularly when rendering large video files.
I was surprised that I am unable to find any reference anywhere in this forum to anyone else who is using the GA-X58A-UD5 motherboard, let alone with this RAM.
Any help with the correct BIOS settings for this configuration would be most appreciated.
My sanity is all but gone!
