  • P6X58D-E good for Ripjaws 12GB (3 x 4GB)?

    Hi everyone,

    Is the ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 compatible with G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) DDR3 1333? I understand that they are compatible but I can?t find the G.Skill (3x4) in the Asus list!!!
    Thanks in advance.

I have that same board running the 3X2GB PI's, it would be more then safe to say your good to go man! Especially DDR3-1333 all I would do is get a set with some lower latency sticks, they are out there and are not too badly priced.
    CPU I7-980X @ 3.81Ghz
    MB ASUS P6X58D-E
    GPU GTX480 @ 770Mhz
    RAM 12Gb Patriot Viper Xtreme Division-2 DDR3 @ 1908Mhz
    PSU Corsair AX 850W
    SSD: Intel X25M 80Gb
    HD 2x WD VelociRaptors 150Gb in Raid-0

    Sager NP8662
    CPU: Intel Q9100 @ 2.38 GHz
    GPU: GTX 260M @ 612Mhz
    RAM: G.Skill DDR3 1066Mhz 4Gb
    SSD: Intel X25M 120Gb

      Thanks Schwanke78 for your answer!
I think you are right but I still have some doubts because I don?t see the similarity between the (6GB 3X2GB PI's) your case and the (Ripjaws12GB 3 x 4GB DDR3) my case!!
The price difference between CL9 and CL7 is more than $200!!! Do you think the difference in real life performance between GSKILL F3-10666CL9T-12GB and the Trident F3-12800CL7T-12GB justify the $240 difference?

Na since you will have 12GB of Ram the refresh rate of the lower latency will not really be noticed. Your will be good to go, plus GSKILL F3-10666CL9T-12GB are low voltage so you got some room to play in the fine-tuning of the dims. One last thing don?t forget you get Mem OK with that board if everything else fails on BIO timings.

          Hi

I have two sets of F3 10666CL9T-12 GBRL (24GB total) and this MB

I cant get either set to run at their 1333mhz rating without losing big chunks of RAM.
