  • How to configure Bios to get DDR3-1600 ?

    My system specifications

    Model of the motherboard: GA-890GPA-UD3H
Model of the memory: RipJaws PC12800 RL
Model of the CPU: Phenom II X4 965BE

The problem is that I've got DDR set to 1333, but the DDR are 1600

How to set up my bios to get 1600 ?
Here is the Gigabyte manual (Look Pages 39-42-43-44)

    Thank You

Sorry for my English, I'm french

In BIOS under the MIT page, there is a Set Memory Clock. Change that to x4.00 and that should give you DDR3-1600.

    Thank you

do i need to change any other values ? volt ? fsb ? other ?

      thx

Where do you see 1333? You should look in the memory tab. It should be "DRAM Frequency - 800MHz"

I've got DRAM Frequency at 803.6 Mhz
but in SPD i've got Max Bandwith PC3-10700 (667 Mhz)

          what does that means ?

          am I really at 1600 ?

          thank you

SPD max bandwidth is the motherboard maximum default. You know when you simply plug in the memory and it only runs at DDR3-1333? That is what this is showing.

Your system is actually operating at what is in the memory tab.

            803.6MHz = DDR3-1607 Timings below should be 9-9-9-24

If so, you're ready to go! Enjoy!

values are in memory tab :

              Channels DUAL
              DC Mode Unganged
              NB Freq 2008.9 MHz

              DRAM Freq 803.6 MHz
              FSB: DRAM 1:4
              CL 11.0 clocks
              tRCD 11 clocks
              tRP 11 clocks
              tRAS 29 clocks
              tRC 40 clocks
              CR 1T

              what/how to change ?

what are exactly unganged and ganged mode ?
do i need to set to ganged mode for faster memory use ?

              come back tomorrow
              here 1:45 am
              good night
