G.Skill Tech,
I've recently purchased 2x2GB of PIS pc16000 (2000mhz) 9-9-9-24 ram.
i've did some research and talked to some people on the best way i can make this ram fastest.
i'm using an AMD 1090t with an ASUS M4A88TD-M Hybrid board (880 gx chipset)
understandable that AMD doesn't like ram running over 1600MHz, but i've also been told that the new bios revisions allow amd based boards to run memory at faster frequency.
still, overclockers swear that my ram will be fastest if i keep my ram at 1600MHz and go with super tight timings like 6-8-6-18 1t.
so this is a two part question.
- Can i get my ram up to the rated speed of 2000MHz with the new bios updates for 880 chipsets?
- what is the fastest configuration for my ram? can i get it down to CAS 6 @1600?
If it is possible to get my ram to run at the stock 2000 9-9-9-24 it was meant to run at, I beliee that would be faster than 1600 6-8-6-18
