Mobo - ASUS P7P55D-E
RAM - G-Skill F3-12800CL7Q-8GBECO
CPU - Intel i7 860
BIOS - AM 0610 (latest)
PSU - Corsair 650w
Windows 7 pro. X64
My computer wouldn't resume from standby (S3) with all 4 sticks installed.
By noticing ASUS board POST state LED checking key components, system freezes on resuming cycle, with
DRAM LED staying lighted, telling me the problem should be memory related.
So, swapping sticks and using different slots I discovered the problem is coming from one stick. The system
doesn't resume when this stick is installed in any slot.
Otherwise my system is running smoothly and fast with 2 or 4 modules
(Windows experience index of 7.6 with 2 sticks and 7.5 with 4 sticks).Memtest reveals no fault.
Is that behaviour unusual? I'm wondering if I should RMA my whole kit or only 2 sticks. How important is the
use of a 4 modules kit vs 2 X 2 modules?
For information, the two settings shown below provide me with normal stable operation, apart from standby.
