Hi,
I searched the forums for information on MSI-7636 main board, but found little information.
I bought a F3-12800CL9S-4GBXL RipJaws X module with the hope to increase my PC's RAM. After trying many times and a few OC attempts, I still can't get the new RAM to boot (by itself). The farthest the system could go is the Windows BSOD before even the logon screen.
My PC's configuration:
System Manufacturer: MSI
System Model: MS-7636 (H55M-E33)
BIOS: AMI latest revision 1.10
Processor: Intel Core i3 540 @ 3.07GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
I've been running with a single 4GB Corsair RAM module CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 without any problem for years. It has DDR3-1333 max bandwidth.
From the limited messages I could find in this forum, it seems the Core i3 CPU only supports up to DDR3-1333 but not 1600. I'm unable to overclock the CPU to support 1600 either.
I've tried:
But no luck. Could someone please help??

I've tried:
- single G.Skill module in DIMM1 slot, and/or together with the Corsair module in DIMM1/3 slots
- turning on XMP
- manually OC the CPU
- using Micro-Star Int'l's Live Update to update the BIOS version
But no luck. Could someone please help??
