  • Asus Z87 Deluxe Dual & Intel i7-4771 Haswell

I am trying to determine the best memory option for an Asus Z87 Deluxe Dual & Intel i7-4771 Haswell? It is my understanding that the TridentX series is preferred for Haswell. As a general rule isn't the MHz of the memory more important than the subtimings of the memory? What set should I buy? I am considering building two of these setups; 1 with 16gb and one with 32gb.

    Thanks.

Usually the ram configurator for Gskill tells you a lot, however on that board it only lists kits up to 1600 mhz, and all either ares or aegis which I find odd. I know tridents work well on haswell systems and yours should be no exception.

assuming that is true (need gkskill confirmation that this board just hasn't be well tested)

TridentX F3-2400C10D-16GTX Is a very solid 16gb kit

    and

    TridentX F3-2400C10Q-32GTX
    For 32gb

Both are 2400 hmz kits, I think they can be done with your processor, anything faster will likely need a 4770k to work. I think these are the best two kits for what you want to do, the Ram list on gskills site just has me a bit puzzled. Usually asus and Gskill play well together.
