  • old GIGABYTE mobo, need new RAM

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me what's good with my motherboard...
I have an old ripjaw and wanted to upgrade to 16GB.
I stream videos a lot and run art programs like Photoshop and Painter, but I actually don't even know if RAM is what i need to run them smoothly...lol

this is the motherboard I have: GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel P55 USB 3.0 ATX
    this is what I want to upgrade to: F3-10666CL9D-16GBS 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM

    Opinions???

You've got a standard 1156 mobo, which takes stock DDR3, so a couple of problems here: first is you are limited on this mobo to 4x4GB for a set of 16GB, the second problem is you are showing a set of 2x8GB (which needs to be 4x4GB for 16, this won't take 8GB sticks) and the biggest problem is you are showing a set of laptop memory or SO-DIMMs. If 1333 is your freq of choice then will want to look at these:
