    It works great!

I got my 10666 from newegg yesterday.

    AMAZING!! IT WORKS GREAT!!

I tried PNY & Corsair, both failed Memtest within a few hours. I ran 10666 on my Dell i17R (Inspiron 17) for almost 8 hours and not a single problem found.

I use CPU-Z to checkout my new SODIMM and found it running @ 532 MHz / 4:16 FSB: DRAM / 7,7,7,20,86,1T.
    While JEDEC shows profile #1~4 where #2=533/7,7,7,20,27@1.5v, #3=609/8,8,8,22,30@1.5v, #4=685/9,9,9,25,34@1.5v.

Is there a trick to get it running @ highest rated speed (10666)?
I am guessing it can't run that fast because it was set by BIOS, correct?

Anyhow, I am happy that it works. I am also very glad I go with G.Skill! Thanks GSkill!! Thanks Tman!!

Check in the BIOS and see if it allows you to change the frequency

You should look in the Memory tab, not SPD. Show us pic or tell us info on that page.

Looks like it's going 1066, might check the BIOS again see if anything is adjustable, or check for a newer BIOS or contact the manufacturer - if it's advertised to run faster DRAM, there should be a way

                  Thanks, Tman.
I do have the latest BIOS. You know, it's a Dell, there is no BIOS setting available. Oh, well.

If it's advertised to take faster, drop them a line

I checked with Dell on 9/28 (before I posted questions here) about the memory configuration. Here is the transcript. So I am at lost what I can do next. At least all memory works fine - for that, I am grateful and happy.

                          Finally figured out, I think

I've finally figured out this -

The CPU on this laptop is a 460M. According to Intel http://ark.intel.com/products/50179/...Cache-2_53-GHz, it supports up to DDR3 800 / 1066.

Since it's a laptop, there are no available BIOS options to make any changes. So, the max speed DDR3 supported by i5 460M is at 1066.
