  • F2-6400CL4D-4GBPK and Asus MB P5E

    I have 4gb (2 x 2gb) g.skill installed on a motherboard Asus P5E.
Recently due to some stability issues, I run windows 7 memory check to see if they are memory related.
    Here?s what?s strange though?

Both memory modules tested separately work without errors, but when put together there is hardware failure to the test. Memtest finds errors too?
I originally used the recommended Dimm sockets A1 & B1, but after the memtest failure I tried swapping them to other possible combinations to see if it helps.
    • A1 solo ? works fine
    • A2 solo ? works fine
    • B1 solo ? works fine
    • B2 solo ? works fine
    • A1+B1 ? Fails
    • A1+B2 ? Fails
    • A2+B1 ? Fails
    • A2+B2 ? Fails

So basically there is no combination for them to work together without errors, any advice?

May need to raise the DRAM voltage or the NB voltage slightly, ensure you have the latest BIOS and that the base timings and CR are correct.
