  • Motherboard cannot detect 1G memory

    Hi

I just install a new 1G of G.Skill memory in my MB, but the MB utility and Belac only show 512m in the slot. I have tried put it into a different slot, but still the same. When I put back my old 1G stick, it shows 1024. Below is my config:

Model of the motherboard: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3P
    Model of the memory: G.Skill 1G PC2-6400 (400 MHz), F2-6400CL5-1 GBNT
Model of the CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400

    Thanks!!!

Do you have the latest BIOS? Have you set the DRAM up manually?

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

I have updated to the latest MB BIOS and that was the first thing I did.

I did not set the DRAM manually. I used the default setting with the BIOS.

Try setting it up manually to the base rimings, if still showing incorrectly may want to run memtest on it

Make sure memory hole remapping is enabled in BIOS.

          Thank you
