  • Add to or replace?

Wishing to increase from 4 to 8 GB of RAM would there be any advantage in replacing the 4GB kit with an 8GB kit over adding another 4?

    With thanks,Pilgrim3.

increase to 8GB of memory, you can open more programs but doesn't really increase PC performance tho

Let me try and be more precise.
I already have 4GB of memory.
I have two choices...1)Remove the 4GB kit and replace with a 8GB kit.
      or
      2)Add a second 4GB kit.
Would either method be better than the other?

for the performance, they are the same
but 2 sticks would have better compatibility
        thanks
