  • F2-8500CL5D-4GBPI PC2-8500 - Won't run at 1066

    I have the F2-8500CL5D-4GBPI 2x2gb PC2-8500 1066Mhz DDR2 memory in the following system:

Abit IP35-ProXE, CPU Q9550, Corsair TX 750W PS, Seagate Barracuda 750GB, Samsung SATA, ASUS EAH4870/HTDI/1G, SB Audigy.

Memory runs fine at PC-6400 settings which is how it is detected by the motherboard. Manually set voltage to 2.1v and memory times as follows:

    DRAM Timing - Manual
    CAS (tCL) - 5
    RAS# to CAS# (tRCD) - 5
    RAS# Precharge (tRP) - 5
    Precharge delay (tRAS) - 15
    Refresh Cycle (tRFC) - 48
    Write recovery (tWR) - Auto
Write to read delay (tWTR) - Auto
Act to act time (tRRD) - Auto
Read to precharge (tRTP) - Auto
    Command rate - 2T

System will not boot at all or crash on the way up as it becomes very unstable when selecting the DRAM PC-8500 at 1066 Mhz in the BIOS. Setting the voltage to 2.2 and all other MB voltages bumped one notch does not help. After spending hours messing with clock frequency, the memory starts to become unstable someplace after 900 Mhz.

Are there some settings I'm missing (like for the ones left at "auto") or some trick to getting this memory to run at the rated speed? Or is it likely I just have a bad set of memory?

try to set tRFC to auto or more than 60
or just keep all timing auto, it should run 5-5-5-15 automatically
    thanks
