  • Troubles with 4gb

I have purchased some memory and it is showing up in the BOIS as 4gb but then when windows goes to load it crashes and I get the BSOD. Currently I am using 1 2gb stick and 1 512kb stick and that seems to be working. But it only works when the 512kb is in the primary slot. If the 2gb is in the primary slot I get BSOD.

    Here are my specs:
CPU: 1.73 GHz Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2370
computer: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...9&lang=en#N436 (not sure what the mobo is)
    RAM: F2-5300CL5D-4GBSA (pc2-5300 ddrII 667)

I am up to date on my BOIS version and running Windows Vista 64bit. Don't know what else it could be, any feedback is great!

did you try only one 2GB module is istalled?
the spec said it only supports to 2GB memory, so it probabally supports to 1GB module, not 2GB module
Or you may need to ask HP for further detail of its spec
    thanks

yup, if I put only 1 2gb in the main slot, and nothing in the secondary it works.
